Roads

Black diamonds
shards sharp
bound loose
in asphalt angularity
straight
or sinuous curves
on the forest floor
across the treeless flats
the ruts
scar deep

Winter Flower

A whisper of wind
the rustle of leaves
small crackles as I walk
the flower of Autumn
sits
burned by frost
a brown faded memory
of summer blossoms
waiting
for seeds long hidden
life deep in
the root
to burst forth
once again

            EARTH SPRING

            black turned earth
            awaits the spring seedlings
            summer yet to come
            never measure
            possibilities

            a universe in my palm
            pouring into creation
            sprinkled
            or
            in neat rows
            the ending much the same

            chorus of complexity
            surging colors sing
            sounds we often miss
            in the struggle

RAIN

water on rock
from leaf
roof tops
blades of grass
falling
drop to earth
joining
now runs the stream
rivers flow to vast oceans
waves cast upon the shore
the vapors rise and fall
again

EARTH TEARS
            by
            Lili Pintea-Reed

            my heart has become
            concrete and steel
            the twisting frame
            it spins
            a tower of flame
            tumbles

            solid
            becomes dust
            smoke rises
            blocks fall
            Noise to
            Silence

            the earth to bleed
            cinder and ash
            as times past
            the beast chewing wounds
            render sorrow

            shining glass
            the walls
            the philosopher's stone
            transmutes
            Robin Hood
            into
            the Evil Sorcerer
            deep in his cave
            often we become our enemies

            ashes to ashes
            dust to dust
            they say
            the flames
            in the hearts of men
            burn
            Terror
            in daylight
            sorrow makers
            madmen

            light the torch
            shine the Light
            turn eclipse midnight
            into
            Light

            EARTH BLOOD
            BY Lili Pintea-Reed

            earth blood
            child blood
            woman blood
            man blood
            soaked the earth in sorrow
            Martyr to the patriarchy
            ripped the womb
            of earth
            asunder
            broken bodies
            Torn teats
            from child mouths
            cold metal
            replaced
            mother's milk
            Fire and storm
            rage
            incarnate
            turned focus
            away from the predator
